About us

This section of the website covers information about the club, its history (a work in progress...), how it is run and our plans for the future.

The club is an England Football Accredited Club, a standard awarded by the FA to grassroots football clubs.  An annual FA 'health check' assessment ensures that we provide best practice standards on coaching, administration and child welfare.

The club is an unincorporated members club, run entirely by volunteers.  We have a constitution, and a development plan, which can be accessed via the ‘About The Club’ sub-menu.

Our code of conduct is the FA Respect Code, which all club members, volunteers and spectators must adhere to.

Navigate the menu and find out more about Bishops Cleeve Colts FC.

We are also looking to add more information about the history of the club, to recognise great work by so many volunteers, so if anyone has any pictures or information from the last 45+ years, we would love to hear from you.

FA Respect Code of Conduct

Respect is the collective responsibility of everyone involved in football to create a fair, safe and enjoyable environment in which the game can take place.

We all have a responsibility to promote high standards of behaviour in the game, managers, coaches, players, parents and spectators all have our part to play.

Bishops Cleeve Colts FC is keen to ensure all our players, at all ages, play the game with the right attitude, respect for the opposition and are encouraged to do this by all involved.

The FA Respect Codes of Conduct are available to download below.

Thank you for abiding by the Respect Codes of Conduct!

As an FA affiliated club, we follow the Gloucestershire FA safeguarding guidelines.

Our safeguarding policy and procedures are described in the document linked below.

Any club member; player, parent, guardian or spectator or member of the public can contact our Club Welfare Officer, or the Gloucestershire County FA, to ask for help or to talk about safeguarding concerns.

There are many avenues available for anyone to safely seek safeguarding advice and help. Please, do reach out for help if you need it, or have concerns, some links below may be useful for such purposes:

Club constitution

It may not be the most exciting aspect of the website, but as a club with the status of an Affiliated Member Club of The Football Association, we must have a club constitution.  In short the club constitution covers:

The purpose of the club is to arrange association football matches for children between 7-16 and social activities for such members. This is a non profit making Club with all surplus income to be used for the benefit of Club members.

The Rules and Regulations of The Football Association Limited and parent County Association and any League or Competition to which the Club is affiliated for the time being shall be deemed to be incorporated into the Club Rules.

The Club will work in partnership with Bishops Cleeve FC to provide one body, constitutionally linked, developing Youth and Senior football in and around Bishops Cleeve.

The Club will also abide by The Football Association’s Child Protection Policies and Procedures, Codes of Conduct and the Equal Opportunities and Anti-Discrimination Policy.

A full copy of the Club Constitution is available here (PDF download) (there is no change since the 2019-20 season).
