3G Astroturf project at Bishops Cleeve FC

By Secretary

November 27, 2020

The Bishops Cleeve FC senior club are working towards a 3G Astroturf pitch replacing the main pitch at Kayte Lane.  This would provide much needed extra floodlit Astroturf capacity for training, and help reduce the number of fixtures called off for unplayable wet pitches.  Every year we have a number of teams who don't get a mid-week training slot through winter, and this project will help enormously with that.

If successful there would be lots of funding via the Football Foundation and other routes, but some still to raise locally by the club.  Bishops Cleeve Colts FC has always benefitted greatly though out close association with the senior club.   Some of our games are played there, lots of our training session happen at Kayte Lane and use of their facilities for our occasional summer football festivals has always helped make those events so good.

If you support this please do go to the Tewkesbury Planning Portal and comment to provide your support: linked here

We have been challenged - together with BC FC - to raise circa £ 20,000 to £ 30,000 contribution to the overall funding for this project, which will be close to £ 750,000 in total.  We have plans for a large part of this, but are seeking anyone involved with the club with experience of fundraising to help us organise some sort of crowdfunding to help out. Every bit we can raise towards this makes it more likely to go ahead!

I hope you'll be able to add your support to the planning application, and please do get in touch with someone from the club committee if you think you'll be able to help.
